Catacombs & Comedians Crier Newsletter

Trying to make sure that numerous social media outlets are kept up to date with the latest Catacombs & Comedians news can be hard. Is hard. What might get posted on the Instagram account might not make it to the Facebook page. And, then there’s Twitter. Who knows what’s going to happen to that platform. And, TikTok? We should probably be on TikTok, but frankly it scares this Dungeon Master.

So, we decided to try a newsletter subscription method to keep those interested in the going-ons of Catacombs & Comedians abreast of what’s going on and what’s to come. If you would be so kind as to click on the crier below it’ll take you where you need to go to sign up for the Catacombs & Comedians Crier Newsletter.

We promise not to inundate your inbox with email or spam. We’ll only send you the good Catacombs & Comedians content and info that you’re probably interested in anyway if you signed up to receive the newsletter.

Thank you, and may you make all of your saving throws.

Two Halloween Sidesplitting Spooktaculars

This Halloween season, Catacombs & Comedians is proud to present not one, but two live on-stage Halloween special shows. The first Sidesplitting Spooktacular will be on October 19th at Stand Up Live in Huntsville, AL. The second Sidesplitting Spooktacular will be on October 24th at Zanies Comedy Club in Nashville, TN.

On October 19th at Stand Up Live, the adventuring party known as the Hunts Hackersack Hacks — consisting of Barthalomew Bendolent Badmitton (Tom Hand), Satire (Brent Reed), Vivienne Upchuck (Rayna Cahill), and Wildstar (Elliot White) will attempt to survive a humorous, yet horror filled adventure.

On October 24th Zanies, the adventuring party known as Seal Team Pricks — consisting of Balbap (Allison Summers), Egg Lorde (Chance Willie), George Kougias (Tanner Newcomb), and Krugan (Canaan Whichard) — will also attempt to survive a humorous, yet horror filled adventure.

Besides an absurd and amusing terror-filled Dungeons & Dragons game live on stage, each night will feature special giveaways for the audience. The Sidesplitting Spooktacular show at Stand Up Live will also feature the Bazaar of the Bizarre (borrowing the phrase from author Fritz Leiber as well as the old Dragon magazine), a special mini-marketplace with artisan dice and tabletop roleplaying game items and accessories from local craftsmen and vendors. The “bazaar” will be open before the show, so get there early. Vendors featured at the Bazaar of the Bizarre include Nerdzilly, Cryptid Dicecraft, and Nine Realms Gaming.

Get your tickets now for the October 19th Catacombs & Comedians Sidesplitting Spooktacular at Stand Up Live Huntsville and/or the October 24th Catacombs & Comedians Sidesplitting Spooktacular at Zanies Nashville.

Zanies Comedy Club August 23rd in Nashville

Hey, Nashville! Catacombs & Comedians is rolling back onto the stage at Zanies Comedy Club on August 23rd! The show will feature the continuing adventures of Egg Lorde (Chance Willie) the Human(?) sorcerer, Krugen (Canaan Whichard) the Dwarf monk, Balbap (Allison Summers) the Dragonborn barbarian, and George Kougias (Tanner Newcomb) the Half-Elf rogue. If you’ve been to any of the previous shows you know that you never know what’s going to happen when this group of intrepid adventurers try to complete even the simplest of tasks — let alone combat with a fearsome fowlboar.

Also, as a special bonus for our Catacombs & Comedians fans in the Nashville area, The Game Cave in Donaldson is offering a 25% discount on purchases of Dungeons & Dragons products with proof of purchase of tickets from the August 23rd show at Zanies in Nashville. That’s like rolling two natural 20s in a row. Huzzah!

The Oddity Offprint, No. 1

Greetings and well met. (I learned that at a Renaissance Faire.) I’d like to introduce you to Catacombs & Comedians Presents The Oddity Offprint, No. 1 — A Collection of Five Fearsome Freaks. Exactly what is The Oddity Offprint, No. 1 (other than the aforementioned collection of five fearsome freaks)? It is Catacombs & Comedians first Kickstarter campaign. Well, officially it’s a Ø lvl Media Kickstarter, but Ø lvl Media is the producer of Catacombs & Comedians.

The Oddity Offprint, No 1 will be 5th Edition compatible with the “World’s Greatest Roleplaying Game.” (pssst… it’s D&D.) The zine will feature five fearsome freaks to challenge your adventuring party that are as absurd as they are horrifying — freaks that are used to thwart the characters of the Catacombs & Comedians actual-play D&D show.

Besides getting a nifty collection of weird monsters for your Dungeons & Dragons game, supporting The Oddity Offprint, No. 1 Kickstarter campaign is a great way to support the Catacombs & Comedians show. So, back away! (We don’t mean “back away” as in reverse your direction, we mean back the project.) Also, don’t forget to spread the word through your various social medias. Thanks, and may you make all of your saving throws.

Dragonado?

The ol’ Catacombs & Comedians website itself has been a little bit neglected as of late. Things have been busy at C&C HQ with the addition of a new show at Stand Up Live in Huntsville in addition to the original show at Zanies Nashville. Though the Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter continues to offer info and glimpses at what’s going on. But, do to the lack of updates around these parts we thought we’d share an image of one of creature artist Steve Musgrave’s latest creations…

Want More Catacombs & Comedians?

Hell ya! Who wouldn’t?

Well, a great way to get more Catacombs & Comedians is to become a patron on the Ø lvl Media Patreon. That site will serve as the warehouse, so to speak, of all things Catacombs & Comedians—such as downloadable content that will include Dungeon Master’s notes, monsters, non-player characters, maps, and more. If it’s Catacombs & Comedians material that you want to—for whatever reason (we’re not judging)— add to your own Dungeons & Dragons game, that’s the place to get it.

We’ll still provide free Catacombs & Comedians related material such as sneak peeks via social media and podcasts for free, but for high resolution downloads and exclusive content, you’ll want to show your support by becoming a Ø lvl Media Patreon backer. Thank you for your support, and may you make all of your saving throws.

Second Show At Zanies Nashville

Catacombs & Comedians, the actual-play Dungeons & Dragons show featuring stand-up comics, returns to Zanies Nashville on June 21, 2022. The show will once again feature local stand-up favorites Chance Willie, Allison Summers, Tanner Newcomb, and Canaan Whichard, as well as Dungeon Master Dan Taylor (who is not a stand-up comedian).

If you were at the first show on May 24th, we’d love to see you at this show. The adventures of “Seal Team Six” (it’s what they’re currently calling themselves—sigh) continue as they take on the adventure offered to them by their new adventure agent, Ari Gant. If you missed the first show, don’t worry. It won’t be hard to catch up with what is going on. Hell, the players don’t even know what’s going on.

Roll for hilarity. Stand-up comedy crosses swords with Dungeons & Dragons and myth meets mirth. Join an amusing adventuring party of intrepid comedians as they explore a realm both fanciful and funny while playing the world’s greatest role-playing game live on stage.
